    Hi Natasha,

I loved this post. When my brothers and I were growing up, we were never allowed to make lists for Christmas or birthdays. My Grandma on my Mom’s side would always tell my folks, “Have the kids make us a list of what they’d like” and my Dad or Mom would say, “No, you get them what you want to get them or what you think they might like” so that’s what my Grandma did. My Dad never had much growing up and my Mom had a little more than my Dad, but not much. All my Dad would get for Christmas was a card and that was it. He is one of the most grateful people today because of it. I love the mother’s stories of the two Christmases. Oh yes! Tinsel was used in abundance by my two Grandmothers! When my brothers and I were growing up, for Christmas my folks would always give us 3 things. Something we wanted, something to wear and something to read, and maybe something to make or do. They are now doing it with the grandkids.
    What a wonderful post!
    God Bless!

  2. Oh I love this so much! And so very timely in this season that gets mistaken for the-season-of-i-want instead of the season-of-His-coming!

  3. Very good perspective Tashi and very well written. Just loved it!!

  4. Natasha, your blog is one of the few that I keep coming back to. The beauty & simplicity of your posts cause me to focus on what’s truly important. Thank you for bringing God into the everyday. I pray that the Lord will allow our paths to cross one day so that I can hug you & thank you for each post you’ve written that has blessed my life. Please continue being faithful to Christ & resist the urge to make your blog about anything but Him.
Blessings, from the winner of the chocolate cake contest…

Oh, my! Thank you for this sweet note. And an extra thank you since I JUST finished frosting a chocolate cake before sitting down here to catch up on blog stuff.

And yes, it was your chocolate cake! I make almost one a week for my husband and daughter (turns out our little-girly ADORES chocolate cake just like her daddy).

It’s so wonderful to hear from you! <3
