Dearest One, You Have To Learn To Fight
It was almost painful to watch, the first time you had to say you were sorry for your behavior. You stuttered and forced the words from trembling lips. We watched the battle play across your face. Pride dies hard. Humbleness hurts. You looked at me with huge tears sliding down your cheeks and I wanted…
things i love about my husband {11} volunteer service
When we were dating, my husband and I spent an afternoon pouring over a map. He loves to travel and spent his single years working all over the Eastern United States (and one amazing trip to the South Pacific) with Mennonite Disaster Services. He tells stories about Mississippi after a hurricane, Alabama after tornadoes, West…
[splashes.of.color]
re-post from February 2010 In all the battles of life there are moments when God suddenly appears with a splash of color, the arrival of fresh troups, and the cry of victory. One of my “mentors” in the faith has been Amy Carmichael. She was my hero. The woman I wanted my life to resemble….
The Dishwashing Principle
In Titus 2, “older women” are instructed to teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, and to be discreet… Discretion: showing good judgment and wise self-restraint in speech and behavior. In other words; self-control. The first time I sat under teaching on this subject, the teacher asked…

things i love about my husband {3} grander
We were married three months when I mentioned, in passing, my need for new sneakers. The next day I learned that my thought process connected to that phrase was different than my husbands. He picked me up from work and we went directly to Dick’s Sporting Goods. He make me pick out a pair of…
He loves it when I wear my hair down. It’s really long, so when we go outside the house, I keep it up and covered and away from “touchy” people. When we’re at home, I like to keep it up because my toddlers pull it and step on it and stuff.
However, my hubby thinks I look better with my hair down. So when he’s home, I wear it down for him. My toddlers pull it and step on it and etc. But my beloved is happy, so I grin and deal with it! 😀
I love this. 🙂 My hair is quite long (when straight that is, it curls up quite a bit!) and the ends are in terrible repair. I told my husband the other day that I really should get about 6 inches cut off to make it healthy again… and he looked so sad that I just can’t bring myself to do it.
That’s grand! 😀 My poor hubby would be pretty sad if I tried something like that, too!
BTW…I think your hair is beautiful! My little girl’s hair is about as curly as yours if I wet it down and don’t comb it. So springy and soft and sweet! *whimsical sigh*
Curls are fun…. time consuming but fun. 🙂
My husband loves Dr. Pepper, pancakes for breakfast, and when I sit down and really spend some intentional time with him. 🙂
Great list. 🙂 My husband loves Mountain Dew and even though I cringe a little at it, I happily buy it on occasion just because it makes him smile.
