when songs deepen
In my book I mention several times that there are hundreds of ways that pain can rip through our lives. Since the book’s release, I have heard story after story of heart-wrenching sorrow and I have been touched and blessed by the incredible women who bear their burdens with such grace. There is just something that happens…
Dearest One, You Have To Learn To Fight
It was almost painful to watch, the first time you had to say you were sorry for your behavior. You stuttered and forced the words from trembling lips. We watched the battle play across your face. Pride dies hard. Humbleness hurts. You looked at me with huge tears sliding down your cheeks and I wanted…

::The Haitian Chronicles:: The church in Lazille was in the process of putting up a new building. Our team was hoping to help put the roof on. Soon after arriving we learned that the tin would be unavailable but the trusses still needed constructing so we drove the hour and a half drive into the…
Why I loved my tiny house
Almost seven years were spent in the little house on the hill. People made comments sometimes, wondering that we could ever live in such a tiny place. Usually their comments only lasted as long as they were driving-by and talking. Once they came inside, they shushed up right quick. My husband had taken a little…
The Prince Who Was Just Himself
When I agreed to write a review for a new children’s book, The Prince Who Was Just Himself, I had no idea that I would suddenly get so busy the book would be left on my shelf for months before I could even crack the pages open. Every once in awhile I would look at…
A City No Longer Deserted
Like a Potter with a lump of clay, God has traced and refined and spun. He has taught me the value of cracks and scars. He has defined my purpose. He has spread light into me and salted me rich. He’s not done. How glorious! He is still changing and molding and redefining. But some desert moments…
Such adorableness!
I had to smile at the dandilion crown… So many memories of things to do with dandilions. We don’t have any here in our yard in Florida. But we have a little yellow cup flower that blooms every evening. Enjoy summer. We will be in Lowville for the month of July, hope to see you then. Gail
I used to spend hours and hours making dandelion chains. It is one of my favorite outdoor pastimes. 🙂
We will write, a little, because we can’t help it after we play in the grace of summer. But I’m with you- I shall not be a slave to the blog or the book in the summer! Here’s to living with hands open to daily grace!
most definitely! 🙂
These photos warm my heart, what a precious day with adorable little ones. My spirits are lifted just seeing thier smiles.
aren’t they simply precious? I greatly, greatly enjoy them all.
Beautiful! Simply beautiful! Are they nieces and nephews???
nieces and “my boys” (the kids I watch that I claim. 😉 ) there were some nephews there too but they eluded the camera.
I haven’t seen dandelion crowns since I was a child! Thanks for the smile!
As a child I would make yards and yards of them… literally. I told the kids that we’re going to make a huge chain sometime and take pictures. 🙂 I just love dandelions. They make me happy.
